Potentially yes – please note once online is closed these are classed as ‘late entries’. Late entries are subject to availability. We will change you +€5 for a late entry. Watch our facebook page for updates.

Yes. Walkers are welcome in both the 10km & Half Marathon.

Yes. We are using timing chips. You will receive one at registration. Please ensure you give it back at the finish line.

Yes! Everyone who finishes will receive a medal. You will need to be wearing your race number though!

Yes. We would encourage you to do so.

Unfortunately, no. We cannot refund your fee or defer entry to the following year under any circumstances. Transfers are also not allowed.

Yes. Under 18’s can only take part in the 10km race. Participants must be 18 years or old for
Half Marathon. This is in line with the IAAF guidelines.

The course is officially measured in kilometres, so the marking on the day will also be in kilometres.


Rules for The Wicklow Historic Gaol break are to ensure that everyone enjoys a fun, safe and fair event. Remember your freedom is at stake. Rule violators will be deported to Australia on a cargo ship!

  1. Please obey the Stewards & Gardai at all times.
  2. Please keep to the time deadlines. Walkers have set times to arrive at the Start/Finish as do the runners for the start of the race.
  3. Do not take any short cuts off the course, you are only cheating yourself.
  4. Competitors should have their number clearly visible on the front of their running top.
  5. Runners who finish the race without a number will not receive a finisher’s medal. There will be no exceptions to this.
  6. Outside assistance is not allowed. You may carry your own food or drinks but support from cars or bikes is strictly prohibited. This is in the interest of giving everyone an equal chance.
  7. Please do not leave valuables in the dry bags. The organisers cannot accept responsibility for lost, stolen or mislaid dry bags.
  8. It is the responsibility of the participants to know the route and change over points.
  9. You must register and sign the waiver to be part of the race. Failure to do so will result in forfeiting the race.

No. You must complete the race to receive the medal (no exceptions). If you don't make the race you forfeit the medal. Note - transfers of entries are not allowed - Take note if you entered the Trilogy series.
