Entry & Registration

The Half Marathon or 10km decision..?

There is no car with the engine running or helicopter to whisk you away to freedom - the Guards along the route will ensure this! Your fate has already been decided by choosing your distance so you can relax by running or walking (or a combination of both) to complete the 10km or 21.1km distance.

The course for the 10km and Half Marathon Starts and Finishes at Wicklow's Historic Gaol, Wicklow Town.

Rules

Rules for The Wicklow Historic Gaol break are to ensure that everyone enjoys a fun, safe and fair event. Remember your freedom is at stake. Rule violators will be deported to Australia on a cargo ship!

  1. Please obey the Stewards & Gardai at all times.
  2. Please keep to the time deadlines. Walkers have set times to arrive at the Start/Finish as do the runners for the start of the race.
  3. Do not take any short cuts off the course, you are only cheating yourself.
  4. Competitors should have their number clearly visible on the front of their running top.
  5. Runners who finish the race without a number will not receive a finisher’s medal. There will be no exceptions to this.
  6. Outside assistance is not allowed. You may carry your own food or drinks but support from cars or bikes is strictly prohibited. This is in the interest of giving everyone an equal chance.
  7. Please do not leave valuables in the dry bags. The organisers cannot accept responsibility for lost, stolen or mislaid dry bags.
  8. Please return the timing chip at the end of the race at the finishers line.
  9. It is the responsibility of the participants to know the route and change over points.
  10. You must register and sign the waiver to be part of the race. Failure to do so will result in forfeiting the race. No refunds.
